The last sticking point for me was spending time reading facts, science, and also info about the historicity of Jesus. Add what I learned, added to my previous opinion of how could a Loving God allow so many ugly, unkind, horrible, atrocious things to happen in this world? and how God or Gods have different faces and attributes depending in which part of the world you were born, brought me to th

If they dumped the BS no one would recognize the Mormoney church. Ain't that a pleasant thought.

I have been reading My Story by Elizabeth Smart and Chris Stewart. I was curious about the book on several levels---how much detail of her ordeal would be revealed, how Mormoney it would be, and how honest and forthright would it be. I have been pleasantly surprised on how well it is written, but honestly I would have liked the story to have been told just my Elizabeth herself. Maybe that wa

Great idea to have one on every corner. It would give the saints (?) and visitors a like a taste of the real Land of the MORmONS and add some real humor to the state of Utah (we could use some).

So sorry for all involved. My mother used the same line with me. She said, "What good is bringing up the past?" Well, I dared to answer her because at this point in time I had been to counseling and was not as easily pushed around. So I naively started to tell her what good it could accomplish. and her response was to just refuse to listen. I tried one more time. Same response.

I add my sincere and heartfelt Congratulations!!! and I so love the way androidandy put it, "Now you can do life without the heaviness of Mormonism in everything." It is unbearably heavy, and it is certainly "in" everything as Mormoney has no boundaries whatsoever. I would also love to hear more of your story if you feel like sharing. Wishing you a beautiful trip in you

How about the lie the cult perpetuates that the glory of God is intelligence which by the statement makes a person think that they should read, study, weigh the pros and cons, and become as educated as possible. That you should become a person who thinks things through and does not act quickly. That you should become a person capable of reasoning. Then the cult turns around and tells you th

So very sad to hear about more missionaries dying. It highlights one of my pet peeves concerning the cult. Missionaries are thrown to the wolves because the system does not, in anyway shape or form, prepare and educate the missionaries and their families about the foreign countries or the states the mishes will be serving in. Yes, they do need to have bicycle rode training and the ins and o

I personally have made the decision not to attend such gatherings. I feel that it does show support, and I find communication between people is usually church-related. I choose instead to make it a point to visit or do something with the child and/or family at another time, such as a date for ice cream, pizza, etc. This way I feel that I can be sincere and have fun, and not have the atmosphere

When con-man Joe was sure of the control he had, right away he brought in the sex. Polygamy was a reward he gave to those who were in the inner-circle with him. Of course he said his revelation came straight from the heavens. Yeah, that it did---the heavens of his desires and his gigantic con-ability.

I've forgotten how obnoxious that line from the song is. Yes, we are the perfect ones following all of the excellent rules while you lesser folks "will never such happiness know." I hate the box that "lesser folks" are put into by religious zealots. It is so very christian, isn't it?

Fry sauce, funeral potatoes, and jello placed inside the beehive would make a new appropriate Utah symbol. Can't have the state getting stale.

Yes, I can tell from your calling Utah exotic that you have never been here to the land of the unbelievable. Call it Lop-sided with Stunning Scenery or Never-Never Land, Mormoney by Too-Many, but IMHO, it does not qualify to be called Exotic, unless it's Exotically One-huge-Pain-in-the-Neck.

I so agree about his unreadible handwriting and lousy grammar. I believe it just might show where his eyes and attention were during his English classes.

I cannot imagine being college-aged and listening to a speaker like this. Isn't this the age that you want your children to be opening their eyes instead of having them slammed shut with bolts attached? There is no place in her talk (which I somehow made it through) does Susan give the students a choice; go against what the cult teaches and you are Satan's right hand woman. Her repetition of

IMHO it makes a TON of difference for the following reasons: 1. It made the news and the elite boys' club had to be madder than h*%#. 2. The ladies did not ASK for permission; they organized and acted on their own! (gasp) 3. The ladies were not home making rolls and cookies for their men.

Now the poor members have one more duty on their list of mormon duties---to be a "FULL-TIME-FINDER". If one adds up all the obligations on a mormon member, he/she has no time to sleep. A full-time-finder could take lots of hours and give one lots of headaches. What a crock. The post reminding us that those in elite positions will not be the ones attempting to accomplish this new a

Um m m... May I suggest a good book? Or a drive to view the beautiful colors of fall? Or writing a letter to a friend whom you have meant to contact forever? Mormonism is not easy to get over for most people. We were brainwashed for a very long time, so it makes sense that there will be times that we want to go back for the "decent" parts of the church. After all, IMHO we wer

Don't forget that you have been under the Mormoney church's brainwashing for quite a while and parts of it are comforting and soothing. You have been taught that you were valiant or you would not be on earth right now and you have been taught that there is a life after this. I know from experience that there are wonderful ways to spend your time when mormonism is no longer present to dictat

If you want to have kids, I am so sorry that you are unable to. You did not say what your status is concerning the LDS church. If you are a member who is happy in the church except for the mom-thing is adoption an option? I realize you said you are single, but adoption is a possibility in this situation also. Have you thought about counseling if the issue of having your own kids consumes

After reading the letter supposedly written by a middle-aged mormon man, I question that this person wrote it by himself. I think it reads like he was told what to write or that someone from Mormoney church wrote it, and had him post it on the blog under his name. Do I think the church would do this or has done something similar in the past. Yes, I do. I think the church is in a panic mode

"..what more do they want?" says it all in that little phrase. The mighty priesthood-penis-holding men, in their abundant magnamity and charity, HAVE GIVEN to the women certain allowances and, by dam, they do not get anymore. We have our limits, you know! We are the kingpins and we will stay the kingpins. And this saith the Lard through us.

Agree, and the cult is pulling the torniguet tighter and tighter. Hopefully, they will soon have to hire LOTS of surgeons to give them assistance, and this will further deplete their money bags. Unspoken fear permeated the talks. The cult only likes change that they originate, and THIS CHANGE IS NOT PART OF THEIR PLANS.

I so agree. It is a brilliant song and I love the line "We didn't start the fire It was always burning Since the world's been turning." Thanks for sharing. And what a silly idea it is for me to think I was chosen to come to this life now because of my super amazing valiant behavior way back when. They sure goofed thinking that was ever a possibility.

The Mormoney church is a master of masters at heaping the guilt on people to do more and more and give more and more. I have studied about many other religions and cultures and there is not one other that I have come across that demands so much of its members. Bake this cake for the Roberts' family, get your VT/HT done, write in your journal daily, pray with your family and pray alone and pray
