Had a great experience at BYU and also met my wife. Despite the good experience, now that we are out we don't like to admit we went to BYU. I know, kinda immature, but you get put into the Mormon box and people have certain expectations as soon as you say BYU. You are also admitting you were dumb enough to stay in the LD$ Inc cult for a while.

Wanted to add that paid GAs are 60 plus guys that were successful, probably have house paid off, kids out of college and likely receiving retirement money from a career as well as full social security money if over 65 or 70?? In addition to their own retirement income they are getting 70-130K with expenses covered, medicare premium paid and who knows - maybe even some type of chruch funded IRA

Instead of watching the endowment, try having sex with your temples clothes on. Defile the holy robes! Laugh at the cult!

In LDS Inc run Utah, silence from LDS Inc about climate change is also a free pass for the crazies in the Utah legislature to deny climate change and block actions needed to reduce CO2 emissions. If you believe in sin, isn't this a sin of omisson?

Too bad anyone is joining any religion. How about some science education instead. Can we start a "church" that sends out science missionaries?

LD$ INC has so much damn money they need to put it somewhere. The LD$ royalty needs to be solid - so lets give them a good reason to stay solid. Sounds like a good business practice to me. Instead of sending your kid to college you can pay tithes and a pension to an already rich old guy. YEA!!!

Here is a link to a map showing the main faults in this area. http://files.geology.utah.gov/online/pi/pi-3.pdf There are houses built all along the fault traces in SLC. Sure you shouldn't build on top of it, but that hasn't stopped thousands of people from doing so. A fault breaks in a zone, not in the same place each time. They may have modified a map, but everyone knows there are faults

Not only does the DNA science not support Jewish Indians and Jaredite submarines (tight like unto a dish), 23 and me and the other DNA companies are wreaking havoc on Adam and Eve by reporting that 1000s of TBMs have neanderthal DNA. Science 2 - LDS INc 0

Don't do it. Your brain will explode due to the massive contradictions in your head. Integrity and truth don't matter to Trump, but it does to mature adults.

So Jesus can help a Mormon find his lost car keys, but can't/won't help starving children or stop war? So there is only one true church, but really only a few members on a world wide basis. One would think that if its so great/true it would have spread by now. It's been over 150 years.

They can predict Walmart profits and who will buy what from Amazon. Beyond that, they can't predict anything.

Your story seems to have has nothing to do with Utah. Its all about your mother in law. I can see not wanting contact with MIL, but what about siblings and dear old dad? Moving out of state because of your mother in law is like moving out of state to avoid an earthquake on the Wasatch fault. I would set the rules for her. She needs you more than you need her (grandkid, family parties etc,.).

SLC has a huge Arts community related stuff, but you are right no art museum in SLC - except of course for the Church art museum - which is far more than Joseph Smith on velvet. There is also lots of great art in the conference center. The Eccles Art center in Ogden and the Springville Museum of Art have great collections.

My wife and I find frequent use of temple language in many contexts. It now has new meaning. For example: You get screwed over by your phone carrier: "Bow your head and say yes" Bedroom quotes include: " Let him enter," and "we will go down." etc....... Blaming someone for something you did: "The woman thou gavest me, gave of the fruit and I did eat

Quote from Stephen J Gould "My visceral perception of brotherhood harmonizes with our best modern biological knowledge. […] Many people think (or fear) that equality of human races represents a hope of liberal sentimentality probably squashed by the hard realities of history. They are wrong. This essay can be summarized in a single phrase, a motto if you will: Human equality is a contin

Wife and I both have higher than ave percent neanderthal! It made our day. Not sure how the church weasels out on this one and Adam and Eve. My partiarical blessing says I am from Ephriam etc... and a son of Adam. Apparently, Adam was banging neanderthals (according to the cult he was in Eden a long time - maybe he was sneaking out at night - atta boy Adam). Also, where do we get neand

Tithing families with real needs is a very EVIL shaming practice. Lets kick and manipulate this lady while she down and prevent her from taking her kids on vacation, getting a car or whatever. Very family NOT friendly. Another practice equally if not more evil is denying someone a recommend to attend a wedding of a one of their kids. Pure Cult Evil!

About 20 years or more ago, my dad died and my mom was sealed to him about a year or later. I stood in for him at the temple, and trust me, marrying your mom for your dead dad is more than a little weird. Anyway, after the sealing my wife saw a guy going down the escalator in temple that she said looked like my dad and thought it was a "confirmatory vision." Fast forward to abo
